Cockatiels are in the parrot family. They come in many mutations, the grey, pearl, cinamon, cinamon pearls, lutinos amongst others.
Cockatiels make good house pets and can easily be tamed to step up onto your finger, shoulder etc and can make playful pets as long as they are often let out of their cage to keep them fit and entertained. They can learn to whistle tunes such as star wars and some can slightly talk if they hear the tune or word reguarly!
Cockatiels eat a simple cockatiel/parakeet mix but this needs to be supplemented with greens and vegetables to maintain a healthy diet. They will ovbiously need a fresh supply of water every day and oyster shell should be offered to maintain calcium levels. Here is a simple cockatiel/parakeet mix:
